Image and text from a Newspace exhibition showing black and white instamatic image made as a child of a toddler on a slide.
From the 2013 group exhibition “Early Works” at Newspace Center for Photography in Portland, Oregon.

I moved to Colorado from the Midwest to complete college, combining Sociology, English and Fine Arts into a distributive degree. During the next few years in San Diego, work as a docent for the Museum of Photographic Arts greatly expanded my understanding of the medium. Following a move to Portland, Oregon in 1986, I continued work as a photographer while volunteering for local photography organizations, including Blue Sky Gallery and Photolucida.

I use both film and digital cameras to explore environments, ordering my world through a lens. My images have been exhibited in galleries and museums, and are held in both private and public collections.
